How to Upload a Document to FusionForge

Go to “Docs” to access the Documentation Repository.

File:Access_docs.PNG

Select “Submit new documentation”

Fill in the form with the basic details of the document and press “Submit Information”. Please note that all documents are created with Public access by default. To make them private go to the next sections and read on. Don't forget to set what is the group (folder) you want the document to belong to.

Making a Document Private

Go to “Docs” to access the Documentation Repository.

Now press “Admin”

The list of docs broken down by status will show up. The documents that you submit will appear as “Active”, meaning they are publicly available.

File:Admin_docs_list.PNG

Just go to the folder where you created the document and click on it. The system will show a list of documents in the folder with status = “Active”

Click on the document whose state you want to change.

Just change the state to “private” and “Submit Edit”. You can also modify the folder where the document lies or other fields submitted when you created the doc.

Now the document is not visible for users from outside the forge!

Deleting a Document

Follow the steps in the previous section choosing "deleted" as state

Creating a New Directory

Go to “Docs” to access the Documentation Repository.

Now press “Admin”

Press “Add/Edit/Delete Document Groups”

File:manage_doc_groups.PNG

Go to the bottom of the list of existing folder and fill in the Form “Add a group”. You have to provide a name and also can specify a parent folder if it is going to be a subdirectory. Once you press “Add”, the folder is created.

Very Important Note: the directories with no files in them are not visible. This is fine but there’s a bug: if a subdirectory is contained in a folder without contents apart from the subdirectories, it is not visible and the subdirectories are not reachable via normal navigation, whether they contain docs or not.
