The creation of an account in FusionForge is pretty simple. You just have to go to:

then click on "New Account" in the upper right corner:

It should drive you to a screen where you have to assign yourself a login name and fill a registration form. Fields labeled with an (*) are mandatory. Your login name should be valid UNIX login name, therefore "." are not allowed. We would suggest using "_" to separate words instead.

The “@Email Address” field is very important, not only because it will be used to complete the registration process but because you will receive notifications from FusionForge (assignment of tickets in trackers, etc) through it. Make sure that your e-mail is a corporate one (gmail, for instance, will be rejected)

Once you fill the form, you should click on the “Register” button at the bottom of this page. Clicking on the “Register” button will drive you to a page like the one below, informing you that an email has been sent to the email address you provided.

You then have to check for an email received at the address you provided which includes an URL link you have to navigate to in order to complete the registration process.

Clicking on the URL you have received, you will visit the following page where you have to provide the login and password you provided in the registration form:

Once you do this, you will directed to a welcome page at FusionForge:

Conventions for user accounts linked to Use Case projects

Section deprecated - currently there is no Use Case projects.

Projects developing use cases on top of FIWARE are welcome to create special FusionForge user accounts devoted to provide feedback to the FIWARE project. They can join the FIWARE project in FusionForge using these dedicated user accounts. They will be assigned the "FIWARE User" role when joining the FIWARE project (please check tutorial on "How to join a FIWARE project in FusionForge"). Use Case projects that create user accounts complying with the following conventions, will be accepted as members of the FIWARE project, playing the "FIWARE User" role:

Login name := <project-name>_<username/activity>

First name := <username/activity>

Last name := <project-name>

Login name = safecity_video

First name = Video

Last name = SafeCity

Login name = safecity_johnb

First name = John Benjamins

Last name = SafeCity
