How to follow-up a tracker in FusionForge

You can follow tickets of trackers linked to the FusionForge projects you are working in by clicking on “My Page” and then select “Tracker Dashboard”. The first time you access to the Tracker Dashboard, all the open tickets, their owners, dates, and related tasks are displayed.

To access the tickets of a given tracker like the “FI-WARE Theme/Epic/Feature Requests” tracker you simply need to click on it. You will then navigate to a page where you can browse the tracker database. You can also access the tickets of that tracker by navigating to the Home Page of the FusionForge project the tracker belong to, then clicking on the "Tracker" tab and then clicking on the tracker.

You may setup a simple filtering and sorting expression based on standard fields (Asignee, State) but what most probably will be of interest to you is to setup your own queries using the “Advanced Queries” tab.

By selecting a pre-programmed query and clicking on “Power Query” you will get the subset of tickets that satisfy the query. Whenever you access to the Tracker Dashboard, the query you selected here will be active and will filter the tickets you see.

In order to build a new advanced query or modify an existing one, you should click on “Build Query” which should direct you to a page that allows you to program a query. You may select multiple values on multi-select box fields, or apply pattern-matching conditions on text fields (the % character is used as wildcars). Playing with values you have assigned to the “Issuer Keywords” field in your tickets may be rather helpful here, since you may query for tickets linked to a given keyword or a combination of keywords (e.g., “%video%” or “%video%face recognition%”). You have to assign a name to a new query so that you can select it by name in the “Advanced queries” tab later on. Playing with pattern-matching conditions in the Summary field may be also helpful.

Once you have configured how to browse a tracker at your own convenience, you may configure the tracker as to inform you by email about any changes in your ticket. This will help you to follow-up how they evolve over time. You just need to click on the “monitor” button of the page where info about the ticket is displayed.

At the bottom of the page you can also find the tabs titled as “Followups” and “Related Tasks”. Comments / follow-ups on the ticket itself (dates, ownerships, etc) go to “Followups” (floating text field). You can attach files to a given ticket.

Last but not least, tasks can be monitored by selecting the respective task under the “Related Tasks” tab. Mind that there can be 1-N tasks assigned to a ticket.
