yEd is a tool we can use for architecture diagrams. It is an alternative better than PowerPoint. A link to the FMC stencil template deposited on the documentation repository can be found at the bottom of this article.

In order to use this template permanently in yEd you have to perform the following steps:

  • Open the FMC.graphml in yEd,
  • Select “Manage Palette” in the “Edit” menu,
  • Click on “Import Section” and select the FMC.graphml file to import,
  • Close the “Manage Palette” dialog,
  • In the “Palette” window at the right-hand side you will see the FMC tab containing all visual elements for FMC diagrams.

yEd can save the diagram in various formats including SVG. Some of them can used within the Wiki. The Wiki could also configured to handle SVG, which is a vector format and independent of the screen resolution and scaling.
