Name VertexMorphAnimation Chapter MiWi
Goal Vertex-level morph animation (moving individual vertices) on 3D virtual character objects
Description For situations where just movement of bones does not describe the animation properly (eg. customizing a virtual character between thin and muscular) the individual vertices of the 3D character can be manipulated. Compared to skeletal animation this can be CPU processing-heavy, so is best left for static, one time appearance changes instead of constant dynamic manipulation
Rationale For some animations and methods of character customization just bone-level control is not enough, but control over the individual vertices is required.
